<span style="font-family: Calibri;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">If through prayer we keep God as the "third Partner" in our marriage, I believe we will have the strength and grace we need to always accept and do His will always.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Calibri;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Praise be to God forever!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Calibri;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">This is a long set of prayers, but remember the trials Tobias the Elder and Sarah endured in order to achieve a happy marriage. Amen.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Calibri;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Calibri; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal;">Pray 1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary, 1 Glory be...</span><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 18pt; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal;"><br /></span><br />

<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: #f3f3f3; line-height: 18px;">O Jesus, lover of lovers, my dearest Friend, I open my heart to You in all confidence. I beg Your Light and Assistance. Give me the Light of Your grace, that I may decide wisely concerning the person who is to be my partner for life.</span></span><br />
<span style="color: #f3f3f3;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;">Dearest Jesus, send me such a person whom, in Your divine wisdom, You judge best suited to be united with me in marriage. May their character reflect some of the traits of Your own Sacred Heart.</span></span></span><br />
<span style="color: #f3f3f3;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;">Bless our friendship before marriage, that sin may have no part in it.</span></span></span><br />
<span style="color: #f3f3f3;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;">May they be upright, loyal, pure, sincere and noble, so that with united efforts and with pure and unselfish love, we may both strive to perfect ourselves in soul and body, as well as the children who it may please You to entrust to our care.</span></span></span><br />
<span style="color: #f3f3f3;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;">May our mutual love bind us so closely, that our future home may be most like Your own home at Nazareth.</span></span></span><br />
<span style="color: #f3f3f3;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;">Amen</span></span></span></div>

<div style="font-family: Georgia, serif; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">O Archangel Raphael, lead us towards those we are waiting for, those who are waiting for us! Raphael, Angel of Happy Meetings and Catholic singles, lead us by the hand towards those we are looking for! May all our movements, all their movements, be guided by your Light and transfigured by your Joy. Angel Guide of Tobias, lay the request we now address to you at the feet of Him on whose unveiled Face you are privileged to gaze. Lonely and tired, crushed by the separations and sorrows of earth, we feel the need of calling to you and of pleading for the protection of your wings, so that we may not be as strangers in the Province of Joy, all ignorant of the concerns of our country. Remember the weak, you who are strong--you whose home lies beyond the region of thunder, in a land that is always peaceful, always serene, and bright with the resplendent glory of God. Amen.</span></div>

<b>Saint Agnes of Italy Rome</b></div>
<div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, serif;"></span><br /></div>
<div style="direction: ltr; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-top: 0pt; unicode-bidi: embed; word-break: normal;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, serif;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">According to tradition, Saint Agnes was a member of the Roman</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;"> nobility born c. 291 and raised in a Christian </span><span style="font-family: Calibri;">family. She suffered martyrdom at the age of twelve</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;"> or thirteen during the reign of the Roman Emperor</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;">, on 21 January 304.</span></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, serif;"> </span></div>
<div style="direction: ltr; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-top: 0pt; unicode-bidi: embed; word-break: normal;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, serif;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">The Prefect</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;"> </span><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Sempronius</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;"> wished Agnes to marry his son, and on Agnes' refusal he condemned her to death. As Roman law</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;"> did not permit </span><span style="font-family: Calibri;">the execution</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;"> of virgins</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;">, </span><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Sempronius</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;"> had a naked Agnes dragged through the streets to a brothel. Various versions of the legend give different methods of escape from this predicament. In one, as she prayed, her hair grew and covered her body. It was also said that all of the men who attempted to touch her were immediately struck blind. In another the son of the prefect is struck dead, but revived after Agnes prayed for him, causing her release. </span></span></div>
<div style="direction: ltr; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-top: 0pt; unicode-bidi: embed; word-break: normal;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">There is then a trial from which </span><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Sempronius</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;"> excuses himself, and another figure presides, sentencing her to death. When led out to die she was tied to a stake</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;">, but the bundle of wood would not burn, or the flames parted away from her, whereupon the officer in charge of the troops drew his sword</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;"> and beheaded</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;"> her, or, in some other texts, stabbed her in the throat. It is also said that the blood of Agnes poured to the stadium floor where other Christians soaked up the blood with cloths.</span></div>
<div style="direction: ltr; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-top: 0pt; unicode-bidi: embed; word-break: normal;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">A few days after Agnes' death, her foster-sister, Saint Emerentiana</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;"> was found praying by her tomb; she claimed to be the daughter of </span><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Agnes'wet nurse</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;">, and was stoned to death after refusing to leave the place and reprimanding the pagans for killing her foster sister. </span><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Emerentiana</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;"> was also later canonized</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;">. The daughter of Constantine I</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;">, Saint Constance</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;">, was also said to have been cured of leprosy</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;"> after praying at Agnes' tomb. </span><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Emerentiana</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;"> and Constance appear in the scenes from the life of Agnes on the 14th-century Royal Gold cup</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;"> in the british Museum</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;">.</span></div>
<div style="direction: ltr; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-top: 0pt; unicode-bidi: embed; word-break: normal;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Agnes' bones are conserved beneath the high altar in the church of Saint Agnese fuori le mura</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;"> in Rome, built over the catacomb</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;"> that housed Agnes' tomb. Her skull is preserved in a separate chapel in the church of Saint Agnes in Agone</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;"> in Rome's Piazza Navona</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;">.</span></div>
<div style="direction: ltr; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-top: 0pt; unicode-bidi: embed; word-break: normal;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">An early account of Agnes' death, stressing her steadfastness and virginity, but not the legendary features of the tradition, is given by Saint Ambrose</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;">.</span></div>
<div style="direction: ltr; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 100%; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-top: 0pt; unicode-bidi: embed; word-break: normal;">

<span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 100%;">The one who wish to see whom to marry - </span><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Saint Agnes is the patron saint of young girls. Folk custom called for them to practice rituals on Saint Agnes' Eve (20–21 January) with a view to discovering their future husbands. </span><span style="font-family: Calibri;">This superstition</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;"> has been immortalized in John </span><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Keat’s</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;"> poem</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;"> </span><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-style: italic;">"The Eve of Saint Agnes".</span><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 18pt;"></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Calibri;">A Scottish version of the ritual would involve young women meeting together on St. Agnes's Eve at midnight, they would go one by one, into a remote field and throw in some grain, after which they repeated the following rhyme in a prayer to St. Agnes:</span></div>
<div style="direction: ltr; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: left; unicode-bidi: embed; word-break: normal;">

<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Catherine stated that on the eve of the feast of St. Vincent 1830, she woke up after hearing the voice of a child calling her to the chapel, where she heard the Virgin Mary say to her, "God wishes to charge you with a mission. You will be contradicted, but do not fear; you will have the grace to do what is necessary. Tell your spiritual director all that passes within you. Times are evil in France and in the world."</span></div>
<div style="direction: ltr; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-top: 0pt; unicode-bidi: embed; word-break: normal;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">On November 27, 1830, Catherine reported that the Blessed Mother returned during evening meditations. She displayed herself inside an oval frame, standing upon a globe, wearing many rings of different colors, most of which shone rays of light over the globe. Around the margin of the frame appeared the words "O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee." As Catherine watched, the frame seemed to rotate, showing a circle of twelve stars, a large letter </span><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-style: italic;">M</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;"> surmounted by a cross, and the stylized Sacred Heart of Jesus</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;"> </span><span style="font-family: Calibri;">and Immaculate heart of Mary</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;"> underneath. Asked why some of her rings did not shed light, Mary reportedly replied "Those are the graces for which people forget to ask." Catherine then heard Mary ask her to take these images to her father confessor, telling him that they should be put on medallions. "All who wear them will receive great graces."</span></div>
